About the Woman's Board
In 2014, the Woman’s Board celebrated 120 years of service to Day Kimball Hospital. Indeed, it was women who first established the Hospital in 1894.
For over a century, women from across Northeastern Connecticut have continued to come together through membership in the Woman's Board to help sustain and grow the health and wellness of our communities.
We are organized for charitable purposes to promote and advance the welfare of the Hospital by being active community ambassadors and by raising funds to meet hospital needs. During our history, we have donated more than $1.5 million to Day Kimball Hospital. Our last pledge raised more than $40,000 for an updated BabySafe Monitoring System for the Maternal Child Health department located within the hospital's Birthing Center. Funds for these commitments come from The Shop at Day Kimball and from various fundraisers sponsored by the Woman’s Board.
