Biography:
I grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, where I learned to love the outdoors and embrace new experiences. After completing my first undergraduate degree in biology I moved to Washington, D.C. to work on Capitol Hill for several years before returning to nursing school. I stayed in D.C. beginning my nursing career at George Washington University Hospital, where I later attended graduate school. I moved to Connecticut with my dog Earl after being accepted into the prestigious Community Health Center Nurse Practitioner Residency which I completed in 2014. Earl and I live in Pomfret with our best friend, Pablo where we tend to a big vegetable garden and enjoy hiking trails in our back yard.
Thomas Edison once said, "The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease." In an increasingly automated world that prioritizes the speed of food over its nutritional content, I strive to make his prediction a reality among my patients...counterculture though it seems.
