All Non-Essential Services at Day Kimball Healthcare Are Preparing to Close as of 12:00 Midnight Tonight Through 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday

Staffing is Coordinated for 24/7 Emergency and Inpatient Care Regardless of Storm Activity

In preparation for the snowstorm approaching the East Coast, Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) will close all non-essential services as of 12:00 midnight Tuesday morning through 1:00 in the afternoon on Wednesday. DKH is working with physicians, nurses and staff to secure essential personnel to support 24/7 operation of the Day Kimball Hospital emergency department and inpatient care for those currently hospitalized and those who may be admitted during the storm.

THE FOLLOWING OUTPATIENT SERVICES WILL BE CLOSED ON TUESDAY AND REOPEN ON WEDNESDAY AT 1:00 P.M.:

• DAY KIMBALL MEDICAL GROUP PHYSICIAN OFFICES: All locations, including those located at the Danielson and Plainfield Healthcare Centers, will be closed on Tuesday and reopen at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Patients are being contacted to reschedule appointments.
• DAY KIMBALL HOMECARE: All essential home nursing visits that were scheduled for tomorrow have been triaged to today, Monday, January 26. Nurses will only being making critical care visits tomorrow. Emergency preparedness has been coordinated should an issue arise.
• DAY KIMBALL HOMEMAKERS: No visits will be made on Tuesday with services resuming at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
• OUTPATIENT DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING, BLOOD DRAW, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND CARDIOPULMONARY REHAB SERVICES: All outpatient services at the Danielson, Plainfield and Putnam locations will be closed on Tuesday and reopen at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE FOR THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:

• WALK-IN CENTER IN PLAINFIELD IS CLOSED TONIGHT AND TUESDAY NIGHT, AND WILL REOPEN ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
• SURGERIES & PROCEDURES: Day Kimball Hospital is CANCELLING ALL SURGERIES AND PROCEDURES SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 27. Patients who have a surgery or procedure scheduled on Wednesday are being contacted today and provided information on how the perioperative services department will confirm their Wednesday appointment.
• INPATIENT SERVICES: Staffing is in place to provide inpatient care to those currently hospitalized at Day Kimball Hospital. There will be NO VISITING HOURS ON TUESDAY.
• ONCOLOGY SERVICES: On a patient-by-patient basis arrangements have been made for chemotherapy patients during the storm period.
• EMERGENCY SERVICES: THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT WILL REMAIN OPEN 24/7 WITH AMBULANCE SERVICE. 
• People who must visit Day Kimball Hospital on Tuesday are requested to park in the lot closest to the temporary emergency department entrance and enter through the emergency department.
