Day Kimball Healthcare Names Matthew Kenney, Occupational Therapist, Employee of the Month for February

March 28, 2018
Matthew Kenney, occupational therapist for Day Kimball Healthcare’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation office in Plainfield, has been named employee of the month for February by Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH).

Kenney has worked in a variety of specialty areas of Occupational Therapy for twenty-two years and began his tenure at DKH in 2016. As an occupational therapist, Kenney provides outpatient physical medicine to patients, and organizes and administers prescribed occupational therapy programs in an effort to reduce and/or prevent disability to help patients achieve their maximum functional potential.

According to Kenney’s supervisor, Physical Medicine Supervisor, Bonnie Harrington, “Matthew is always positive with cheerful personality and is extremely well liked by his clients and peers. He is always willing to go out of his way to do the little extras for others, including bringing in homemade treats. He possesses a very strong and diverse professional knowledge base, and is willing to share what he’s learned and teach others through mentorship. He is proactive in marketing his skills to help expand the services in this clinic. Matt always goes above and beyond what is expected.”

In response to being named employee of the month, Kenney said, “I am surprised and very appreciative to be named Employee of the Month. Thank you for the recognition and honor of this award.” Kenney added, “Making a difference in the lives of those that I touch is what I like most about my job.”

Kenney grew up in southern Maine and currently resides in Ashford, CT. Kenney earned his bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from University of New England in Biddeford, ME and his master’s degree in occupational therapy from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. Kenney is also a certified lymphedema therapist, which is a gentle manual treatment improving the function of the lymphatic system throughout the body.
