Day Kimball Hospital Welcomes First Baby of 2018

Day Kimball Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2018 on Monday, January 1 at 1:18 p.m. Joseph Michael Rathel weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and is doing well, along with mom Haley VanLoan and dad Andrew Rathel of Central Village. The couple also has another son who will soon turn two years old. Northeast Connecticut’s “Baby New Year” was gifted with a basket of baby essentials and stuffed animals by the Woman's Board of Day Kimball Hospital, Walmart, the DKH Development Office, Magic Scissors Hairdressers, and the Danielson Chapter of the Daughters of Penelope.
