Meet the author of Shot in the Buff: Murder in a Nudist Camp and enjoy a discussion of the book along with a raffle and refreshments.
About the Author and Her Book
Like the main character in her book, Joan Dash spent much of her childhood in a nudist camp. She went on to get a Masters and a PhD from Harvard University, where she studied microbial engineering using soil bacteria. Today, she and her husband use the ground penetration techniques described in her book. Most of their work is done in Egypt. She lives in Pomfret and is a member of the DKH Woman's Board.
Event Details and Reservation Information
Book groups and friends are encouraged to attend, and to bring copies of Joan's book to be autographed. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event, or in advance at
The Shop at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. The cost is $10 per book, with all proceeds supporting the Woman's Board fundraising efforts for Day Kimball Hospital.
- Appetizers, stews, salad and desserts will be served. Guests may bring their own beer or wine and corkscrew.
- A raffle will be held
- All proceeds from reservation, book and raffle ticket sales will benefit the Day Kimball Woman's Board fundraising efforts to support the purchase of new medical equipment at Day Kimball Hospital.
- There is limited parking, so carpooling is encouraged.
- There is limited seating and last year's event sold out, so make your reservations early!
- Suggested donation to attend is $35 per person.
Print and mail the author night registration form, along with your check payable to DKHWB, by October 9 in order to secure your reservation.
