Barbara Chvirko Chubbuck Named Employee of the Month at Day Kimball Healthcare

Barbara Chvirko Chubbuck has been named employee of the month for June at Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH). She serves as the administrative assistant in the DKH Human Resources Department.

“Simply stated, Barbara is the heart and soul of the Day Kimball family,” said John Miller, DKH director of Human Resources, Volunteer Services, Pastoral Care, and Education.

In her capacity as administrative assistant, Chubbuck provides administrative and secretarial support services to both the human resources director and department, including serving as the “focal point” for all department information. She is responsible for establishing office clerical procedures, and maintaining both automated and hard-copy personnel records for all employees working in the DKH integrated healthcare system.

Chubbuck related that she felt a range of emotions concerning the recognition: “There are so many who work at Day Kimball who I feel embody ‘employees of the month’ that I am both humbled and thrilled to have been chosen.”

Though in her current position for more than three years, Chubbuck joined DKH in 1983 and has experience in numerous areas of the organization, including the Emergency Department, Pain Management Center and Intensive Care Unit. She earned an associate degree from Quinebaug Valley Community College.

Chubbuck, who was born at Day Kimball Hospital, lives in Pomfret with her husband. Together, they own Breezy Hill Farm.
