Day Kimball Healthcare Further Restricts Visitation Policy

PUTNAM, CT –Due to the increase of influenza in our community, Day Kimball Healthcare is taking stronger measures to protect its staff and patients. Effective immediately, the following restrictions and actions have been put in place at Day Kimball Hospital until further notice:
- No persons with flu-like symptoms will be allowed to visit patients
- No one under the age of 18 may visit patients anywhere in the hospital
- All visitors, please limit the amount of people and time spent in the room
Additional Restrictions for Everyone Entering the Emergency Department:
- All persons entering Day Kimball Hospital through our Emergency Department may be required to put on a disposable face mask
- Those coming to the Emergency Department should limit the amount of family members and visitors that come with them in order to protect their health
Further visitor restrictions are in place for the Burdick Family Birthing Center:
- If healthy, the father of the baby/significant other may visit at all times
- Only two other healthy visitors will be allowed to visit during the mother’s entire hospital stay
- Grandparents will be allowed one brief visit after the delivery, if they are not the two designated healthy visitors
This new visitation policy will be in effect until further notice.
