November 29, 2013
PUTNAM, CONN. –Deborah Sargent, pre-certification/registration clerk, physical medicine, has been named employee of the month for November at Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH).
“Deb is a deserving recipient,” said Jerome St. Sauveur, director of physical medicine at DKH. “In addition to being outstanding in performing the essential responsibilities of her job, she excels at working through new problems that may arise in her area and she keeps the office running smoothly and efficiently while still always putting the needs of the patient first. Deb is a valuable asset to the physical medicine department and to the Day Kimball organization.
Sargent joined DKH in 2004. In her position as a registration clerk, she is responsible for coordinating patient and staff schedules and verifying insurance authorizations. Sargent’s other duties include maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies, researching billing issues, and monitoring medical record requests. This position requires Sargent to do all this while also providing customer service by answering phones and helping patients with various questions.
“Speechless” about being presented with this recognition, Sargent said that she enjoys the diversity of her job and the ability to talk with patients and problem solve on a day-to-day basis. “This job is constantly evolving so I learn new things and have new challenges daily.”
Sargent, who currently resides in Sterling, CT, has also participated on the customer service council and the Plainfield Operations committee. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, knitting, and spending time with her family.
