Dr. John Graham Named VP/Chief Medical Officer at Day Kimball Healthcare

John N. Graham, MD, has been named vice president for medical affairs/quality and chief medical officer at Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH), today announced Robert E. Smanik, FACHE, DKH president &CEO.

John brings a critical perspective to the Day Kimball senior management team,” said Smanik. “His outstanding reputation as an urologist and commitment to the delivery of high quality care, coupled with decades of experience operating his medical practice in Northeast Connecticut, provides a voice that bridges the divide between the delivery of healthcare and the business of healthcare.

“As we continue to experience the ramifications of the Affordable Care Act and strive to operate a fiscally-sound, top-of-class healthcare system, John’s insights and guidance become an important component of our strategic direction.”

In this position, Dr. Graham is responsible for serving as the liaison between the DKH medical staff and executive staff within the DKH system of care. He oversees the medical staff office, quality improvement/risk management department, medical records department, and the medical staff directors, of eleven areas of care.

Dr. Graham is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Hartford Hospital, and a urology residency at UCONN Health Center at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is board certified in urology, and a recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition. Dr. Graham is a member of the American Board of Urology, the American Urological Association and the Connecticut State Medical Society. He is a member of the DKH Board of Directors.

A resident of Pomfret, Dr. Graham and his wife, Joan, have five children.
