RN APPRECIATES VARIETY
OF PEOPLE AND CHALLENGE OF DIVERSE SITUATIONS

PUTNAM, CT – Kimberly Cady, RN, in the Behavioral Health Services Department is Day Kimball Hospital’s December Employee of the Month. Cady cares for a variety of people and handles diverse situations each day, but enjoys the challenges that come with working in behavioral health.

“I was shocked to receive this award,” said Cady. “I work with a wonderful group of people who are also deserving of this recognition. I love working with people who support you in both your professional and personal lives.”

Cady began her nursing career at Day Kimball 12 years ago. Often serving as the charge nurse, Cady’s peers look to her for guidance and strong leadership. She is responsible for managing the unit during her shifts and making sure patient care is at the highest quality possible. Originally nominated for the employee of the month by a co-worker, Cady is said to be an asset to the unit. Kathleen Mackenzie, nurse manager for behavioral health services, said, “Kim is always willing to go the extra mile to provide excellent patient care. She is very deserving of this award.” Cady also plays a significant role in the hospital’s case management department making sure that patients are discharged from the hospital safely.

Cady earned her nursing degree from the Community College of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing an advanced nursing degree at St. Joseph’s College in Maine.

Living in Coventry, RI, Cady has two children and enjoys spending time at the beach and on the boat with her family.
