PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital announces that Mary Kaminsky, Lead Registrar of the Patient Access Department, is the Hospital's April employee of the month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 Hospital representatives, selected Kaminsky as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from hospital management.
"This is a real honor for me," said Kaminsky. "The staff in my department is wonderful and they always go the extra mile. I'm extremely excited to be a part of the registration team."
A member of the Day Kimball family for 29 years, Kaminsky works out of the newly renovated central registration area and performs patient registration duties each day. Interviewing patients or responsible parties to obtain identification and demographic information as well as verifying insurances and performing up front collections are a part of Kaminsky's daily responsibilities.
"Mary has a remarkable ability to read patients as they are walking through the door and is able to immediately put them at ease," said Melissa Vigeant, Patient Access Manager. "Because of her strong ties to the Lab staff she has helped create a cohesive team between the lab and registration staff. Mary is a well-respected member of Patient Access."
Kaminsky lives in Woodstock with her husband Bob and animals. The couple has a son in college and Kaminsky enjoys reading, shopping, doing crafts and traveling. She also goes antiquing and teaches Sunday school.
