PUTNAM, CONNECTICUT – Day Kimball Healthcare announces that Kelly Hunt, PTA, physical therapist assistant, from the Physical Medicine department, is Day Kimball’s June Employee of the Month.

“Kelly consistently presents herself in an extremely professional manner,” said Dan Marcotte, director of physical medicine. “Kelly displays a high regard for excellence in patient care. She is regarded as a great resource by her coworkers and is readily approached to assist in co-treating patients. She consistently performs above and beyond the expected and is always willing to help others. She is truly deserving of this prestigious award.”

Hunt began her career at Day Kimball in 2001. She provides manual therapy, exercise programs and home exercise programs, and measures progress to enable patients to regain function. Upon learning of her selection as employee of the month, Hunt said, “I am much honored to have been selected for Employee of the Month. From the outset of my exposure to Day Kimball Hospital, I was impressed with how dedicated, caring and professional the entire staff is; from medical professionals to housekeeping and maintenance. I have found my work here to be challenging, rewarding and fun.”

In addition to her job with Day Kimball Healthcare, Hunt is the current chair of the Burrillville Housing Authority, Board of Commissioners. Hunt is also a member of Berean Baptist Church in Harrisville, RI, serving as the Church moderator, treasurer and chair of the Pastoral Relations Committee. She is also one of the initial co-founders of the church-directed community food garden and she devotes many hours each summer to planting and harvesting.

Hunt earned her Associates of Science from Becker College in Worcester, MA. She is nationally certified as a Physical Therapist Assistant and is also certified as a Kinesiotape Practitioner.

Having lived in Rhode Island all of her life, Hunt currently resides in Pascoag with her closest friend, Nancy Binns.
