Pauline Whipple Named Employee of the Month at Day Kimball Healthcare

Pauline Whipple, Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut home health aide at Day Kimball Healthcare, is the organization’s October Employee of the Month.

PUTNAM, CONN. - Pauline Whipple has been named employee of the month for October at Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH). She works as a home health aide in DKH’s Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut service division.

Whipple began working at DKH in 1995. As a hospice home health aide, she provides personal care to patients such as bathing and dressing. She also performs household duties, which include preparing patient’s meals and doing their laundry. Whipple is also responsible for providing emotional support to the patient’s family.
“Pauline is unbelievably dedicated to her patients, extending to do whatever is necessary for her patients,” said Carol Emmerthal, RN, MSN, director of Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut. “She is willing to go above and beyond, and is energized when she is able to help a patient or a family during their illness.” Emmerthal further stated that Whipple is equally dedicated to the DKH hospice team, is passionate about the care she provides, and strives to do the best for every patient and family. 
When Whipple was notified of her selection as DKH’s October employee of the month, she stated, “I feel honored to be named. I enjoy working at Day Kimball.” She went on to say that she gets a lot of satisfaction with the fact that her patients and their families appreciate her helping out at their home.

Whipple lives in Putnam, Connecticut with her husband and son.
