Pomfret Resident Suzon Warner is Day Kimball's May Employee of the Month

Suzon Warner, LPN, hospice bereavement coordinator for Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut, is Day Kimball’s May Employee of the Month.

PUTNAM, CONNECTICUT – Day Kimball Healthcare announces that Suzon Warner, LPN, hospice bereavement coordinator for Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut, is Day Kimball’s May Employee of the Month.

“Suzon is a dedicated professional who supports patients and their families during the most difficult of times,” said Carol Emmerthal, director of hospice and palliative care. “She is a true asset to this organization with her ability to determine the needs of individual families, providing care to her patients, mentoring staff and providing support services to the entire community.”

Warner began her career at Day Kimball in 1992 where she started as a volunteer. In 1993 she was hired as hospice bereavement coordinator. In her role as bereavement coordinator, she works with families to develop a care plan for her patients, and coordinates the proper bereavement support, medical social work and other counseling services as needed. In addition, Warner runs adult and child bereavement groups and was instrumental in starting the Integrative Medicine program for Hospice, while providing leadership to the many volunteers that make these groups successful.

Upon learning of her selection as employee of the month, Warner said, “I feel very happy to be recognized for the work I do in Hospice. At the same time, I am humbled because I know how hard everyone works in my department and I could not do my job well if it wasn’t for the supportive people who work around me.”

Warner enjoys working independently and with the knowledge that the Hospice team is there whenever she needs support. Warner added, “This is a very emotional and challenging job that can be difficult at times but I get back so much more than I give. I am most grateful for the many lifelong friends and acquaintances I have made.”

Warner earned her LPN from Windham Tec School, an Associates Degree in Human Services from QVCC, holds an Advanced Reiki certification and Bereavement Certification from American Academy of Bereavement. She is currently studying Science & Art of Herbalism.

Having lived in Northeast Connecticut all of her live, Warner currently resides in Pomfret with her husband Howard. They have two adult children, Kelly and Amanda.
