One important and positive way that health care is changing is that it's moving from a "sick care" model to a "well care" model. What does this mean? Well, in years past, most health care was provided on a reactive basis. Meaning when you got sick, you went to the doctor; this is the "sick care" model. Today health care is moving toward a "well care" model, in which a proactive approach is taken instead, through an ongoing relationship with a primary care practitioner (PCP).
